Senior Engineer:
-Write assembly, maintenance, calibration and test procedures and instructions.
-Examine mfg. processes and data to develop strategies to improve product quality and lower cost.
-Maintain configuration control of test software used in production.
-Provide technical support to production including troubleshooting failures, test software and hardware issues.
-Provide engineering special instructions if necessary to deviate from standard process.
-Lead the transfer of products and processes from R&D to Manufacturing including project planning, gate reviews, qualification, beta trials, providing work instructions and training for production staff and coordinating activities between cross functional teams.
-Perform qualification of fiber laser components including preparing and executing qualification plans, technical support to vendors and technical audits.
-Process Engineering Change Orders and drive/execute implementation of changes by coordinating activities between cross functional teams.
-Project management and leadership of major projects and driving them from execution to completion including coordinating activities between cross functional teams.
-Provide technical support to cross functional teams such as Quality, Supply Chain, Production Staff, Manufacturing Engineering , Planning, R&D, Sales & Marketing.
-Mentor and Train junior engineers and technicians in fiber laser manufacturing processes.
Minimum Requirements:
A Bachelors degree in Physics, Optics, Opto-electronics, or related discipline followed by five years of progressive experience in the fiber optics industry.
Experience must include the following, which may be gained concurrently:
1. 5 years of experience in high-volume manufacturing of fiber optic products including components and fiber lasers.
2. 5 years of experience in laser physics and fiber optics theory
3. 5 years of experience with development, qualification, characterization, testing and productization of fiber optic components, fiber lasers and pulsed fiber lasers utilizing measurement equipment such as power meters, optical spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and beam profilers.
4. 5 years of experience with Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and document control
5. 2 years of experience in project management coordinating activities with cross-functional teams including Management, Research & Development, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Sales & Marketing personnel
6. 2 years of industry experience negotiating with component suppliers for performance, reliability, and cost.
7. 2 years of industrial experience with troubleshooting and testing fiber lasers.
8. 2 years of experience with large mode area (LMA) optical fiber and fiber lasers.
