Sales Support Engineer - Optical Fiber

Job Description and Responsibilities: Play an active role in the success of Coherent Nufern's sales and marketing organization by serving as the liaison between our customers, direct sales, and product line teams to assist in our daily interactions with new and existing customers. The Technical Sales Support Specialist, with aid from our Product Line Managers and engineering staff, provides responses to technical questions about our products from our field sales staff and customers, supports quoting with pricing information, and prepares information for our web presence.     Use your outstanding professional customer service skills and analytical engineering background and critical thinking skills to: Interact with sales team and customers on a daily basis to coordinate responses to technical questions about specialty fibers and provide quote support Work with product line managers and customer service to prioritize customer questions and issues Set-up a system for storage and easy retrieval of data to answer frequently asked questions from customers and sales staff Provide support to Sales and Product Line team by pro-actively identifying trends and distributing technical information to the team Research and report on internal product pricing and availability to support our ecommerce website. Other duties as required. Education and Work Experience: Required 3-5 years of experience in a technical sales support and/or application engineering role Proactive, customer-first focus with passion and product knowledge sufficient to discuss optical fiber, fiber lasers and fiber sensor applications with customers Advanced computer skills including MS Excel pivot tables, charts and data analysis. Preferred One or more years of experience with optical fibers and knowledge of optical fiber and its properties including attenuation, index of refraction, numerical aperture, absorption and dispersion. Salesforce or other CRM experience. Experience with Oracle, SAP, SQL databases and data queries. Knowledge/Skills Ability to build relationships using exceptional interpersonal and communication skills Adept at communicating enthusiastically and professionally by phone and email Ability to communicate with engineering staff, organize technical information and provide crisp and specific responses Prepare professional technical responses by word documents, power point presentations or detailed emails to customers Job ID: 9071

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
