Product Line Manager, Defense

Job Description and Responsibilities: The Defense R&D and Manufacturing group has a need for a product line manager to support the growth of its defense busines.  This is a fast-paced, highly technical, and continually evolving product line with cutting-edge technology development and rapid transition from R&D into production.  We are looking for individuals with a strong technical background and communication skills to ensure we can rapidly meet the demands of our customer community.  Ideal candidates will have fiber laser-related experience in the Defense/Aerospace industry, with strong technical and management skills.  This is an exciting opportunity to help facilitate the strategy and product roadmap for an evolving and rapidly growing market.  This position will require regular travel and customer interactions.  The position is based in East Granby, CT.   Typical Responsibilities Include: Developing business plans and product positioning within the market Overseeing market research, monitoring competitive activity, and identifying customer needs Establishing pricing strategies Interface with engineering, manufacturing, and sales teams to develop new products and/or improve upon existing products Help set competitive strategy for the product line Coordinate with business unit and leadership to develop product roadmaps Support the capture of new business via customer interactions and proposal developemnt activities Present technical and product information to customers and management Support the management of customer relationships Coordinate with business unit leaders to set project priorities based on customer requirements and strategic significance This position will require regular travel to trade shows, conferences, and customer sites  Must be eligible to obtain an active US Security Clearance (active US Secret security clearance is preferred) Must be a U.S. citizen Education and Work Experience: Advanced engineering degree in a related field (BS and/or MS in engineering, physics, or related science discipline) 12+ years of experience Experience in the Defense/Aerospace business is strongly preferred Strong verbal and written communication skills Technical proposal writing experience Knowledge of the Defense/Aerospace Market In depth knowledge and technical understanding of high power fiber amplifiers, lasers, and systems Hands-on experience with the development of new technologies, with a strong preference toward fiber systems Job ID: 9808

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
